Mark Leslie is a Senior Vice President of Hawksbill Group, a diversified business and communications consulting firm based in Washington, D.C.
Mark is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in marketing and government relations. He brings diverse experience in telecommunications, civic business groups and philanthropic organizations to his role as group leader of the grassroots and coalition development team at Hawksbill Group.
Mark most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Taxpayers Association. The SDCTA, founded in 1946, is one of the oldest and most respected independent taxpayer watchdog/advocate groups.
Prior to his role at SDCTA, Mark was the Chief Executive Officer of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. Under his leadership the Chamber exceeded its membership solicitation goals and was a leading voice for business interests before regional and state governments.
During an extended career with telecommunications companies Pacific Bell, Southern New England Telephone, SBC Communications and AT&T, Mark held senior leadership positions in sales, marketing and government affairs. He led numerous successful campaigns to gain government support for wireline and wireless network development programs. These campaigns required extensive support from grassroots and grasstops organizations.
Mark held leadership positions with the Connecticut United Way, the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, the Orange County Business Council and the San Diego Economic Development Corporation.
